Where's the sun today?

After a marvellous day yesterday....it's kinda grey today...and it's supposed to be raining any time now. Bummer! I had planned to go out to Pinnacle Park this afternoon, but maybe I can go tomorrow then.

So what else is there to do, other than updating the website and communicating on the network sites?

SO I started cooking - :-))

Orange Roughy in a creamy garlic and herbs sauce....I will add rice later. I also cooked a chicken casserole with carrots and a creamy mushroom and herbs sauce. I am still debating what carbs to add...rice or pasta? Nooooo, no potatoes! Always remember: Starches are out if you want to lose weight.

Anyways, bot dishes came out really yummie!

I also made "the best kraut ever", I believe, and I will finish up the dish later with chicken brats (with cheese!), and home made spaetzle noodles (some call it dumplings here).

Other than that, I currently have Lasagna al forno (oven baked) either with mear sauce or without, and beef stew with veggies and rice...and also tilapia in a sauce bearnaise with lemon, and rice.

Oh,a nd I started making ice cream again...right now I have strawberry gelato.

I think that's it for the coming week.

Have a good one!

About my home cooked frozen meals and WALKING

Several ladies asked me about my 'home cooked (frozen) meals' project, so here's the update:

I have had a few steady customers for about a year now. Since I vary my meals a bit from week to week, it never gets boring and they still come by the house every week to pick up around 7 - 10 meals. Some take the food to work and heat it up in the microwave for lunch, some prefer to have them at home for dinner - and some do both!

I could handle a few more customers, so if you're interested, contact me for details! :-))

Here's what I usually have available:

Garden lasagna al forno (oven baked)...either vegetarian or with a beef sauce, bechamel sauce on top, and sprinkled with real Italian parmesan cheese.

Grilled chicken breast, with steamed veggies and rice, sauce varies (just ask what I have)

Beef stew (slow cooker), mixed veggies, rice, sauce varies
(sometimes I have a beef roast)

Shrimps, veggies and rice, sauce varies

Fish (Salmon, Tilapia, Mahi-Mahi, depending on purchase price), mixed veggies and rice, sauce varies

Every now and then I also have:

Brats, kraut, and spaetzle noodles
Lobster/shrimp ravioli with veggies and sauce
Mediterranean style jumbo shrimps with linguini

I also have home made premium jams available ( right now I have organic black berry), and I also make home made gelato (Italian)ice cream (please order ahead).

Now to the second part of my message today: WALKING

The cold temps on Winter should be gone very soon, in fact we already had pretty warm weather - ideal for getting outdoors and moving those legs. Since activities of that kind usually need a bit of motivation, I am offering to walk with you. Let's organize small walker groups...and do this together. As usual, no cost involved for walking, and if you ask me questions while walking, I will give you free advice on nutrition and how to lose weight. If you're not local....why not organize a group walk in your area yourself?! I bet'cha you'll meet a lot of nice people this way.

So there you have it, ladies :-))

Have a great week and - HOLLER!

Great - I am back!

I want to apologize for not having posted anything in quite some time. I've been on MySpace a lot...also on yuwie.com/fitladiesrock...and various other sites. You just can't be everywhere, can you?! :-)

I stopped writing my first blog on easyjournal.com two months ago, and I now decided to pick up here again. Aren't you thrilled!? LOL

I will be posting some new interesting material this week.

Promised!

What Your Urine Tells You About Your Health

(source: dr.mercola)

"Your urine holds many clues about your health, which is why physicians in ancient times studied its color, smell and taste as a way to diagnose disease.

What exactly is your urine? It’s a byproduct of blood filtration from your kidneys. A pigment called urochrome, which results from the breakdown of hemoglobin, a protein in your red blood cells, is what makes it yellow.

At the most basic level, the color of your urine can tell you two things:

1. If you have an infection
2. If you’re dehydrated

Ideally, your urine should be light yellow, so for the former, cloudy urine is often a sign of an infection (or kidney stones), while dark yellow urine is a sign that you need to drink more water.

What else can the color of your urine tell you?

Red or Pink Urine: This could be caused by blood in your urine (due to urinary tract infections, enlarged kidney stones or even strenuous exercise), medications or eating lots of blackberries, beets or rhubarb.

Orange Urine: If your urine is orange, you may be very dehydrated. This can also be caused by medications or eating lots of carrots.

Fluorescent Yellow Urine: This happens when you take B vitamins.

Blue or Green Urine: This can be caused by a rare condition that causes high levels of calcium. It can also result from eating a lot of asparagus or taking certain medications. Additionally, if you have ever eaten asparagus you will also know it imparts a very characteristic odor to your urine.

Brown Urine: Medications and some liver disorders can turn your urine tea-colored, as can eating a lot of fava beans, rhubarb or aloe.

Urine that is sweet-smelling is also a sign that you may have diabetes, as the sugary smell may be coming from a high concentration of blood sugar in your urine.

Ultimately, paying attention to the simple clues your body gives you -- and that includes the things your body excretes -- is something everyone should do."

Let me add my five cents to this:

Like thousands of other women, I have had UTI problems for a long long time. UTI's are usually caused by a bacterial imbalance in your urinary tract. I assume that everybody knows how they occur (sexual contact, or menstruation, for example).

We have been advised to drink lots of 'real' cranberry juice, some say to drink two alka seltzers in water at the onset....but none of those remedies actually really helped me ever, and I usually ended up with antibiotics from my PCP. NOT GOOD!

A friend of mine gave me a bag of Chi's asparagus extract one day. I was supposed to drink it like tea, and had to force myself to get it down. It tasted really bad. But guess what?! The symptoms were completely gone!

The next time I had an UTI, I decided to try eating it like a broth, and voila, I was fine with it! So there you have it, this is THE MOST POTENT natural herbal supplement I ever took.

As much as I have refused endorsing or selling supplements until now, I would recommend and even sell Chi's products in a heartbeat. Maybe I should contact them
:-))
